Each tea party package includes:

  • three courses of sandwiches, scones and cookies as well as the tea, milk, sweeteners and lemons.

  • the ability to select rentals from our vintage silver chest

  • the option of having either door step drop-off, simple set-up, or full service by our staff.

The Traditional Afternoon Tea Menu:

We have meticulously designed the perfect three-course Afternoon Tea menu so you can treat your guests to a little elegant southern comfort at home, The Party Bee way.

The first course consists of chicken salad, cucumber, egg salad and pimento cheese finger sandwiches.

The foundation of any great tea is the scone course; and we have ours specially made just for us by Mission Muffins in Washington, D.C. A jar of Double Devon cream and Strawberry Champagne jam accompanies the traditional God Save the Queen scones or you may opt for the variety pack of flavored scones.

The final course includes the inimitable petit fours from Heidelburg Bakery and perfectly sized tea cookies and shortbreads from Pastries by Randolph.

The teas are sourced from Harney and Sons Master Tea Blenders. Our favorite flavor is Paris, a fruity black tea infused with lemony bergamot in the style of a Parisian tea room, which you may opt to have steeped in our special loose leaf mason jar method; or, you may choose from silk sachets to brew yourself in a variety of seasonal offerings. This summer we are offering Paris, Mothers Day Floral blend, or Chamomile Herbal. We include every accoutrement needed for hosting your tea down to the milk (never cream!), thinly sliced lemon wheels, honey and demerara sugar cubes.

All items are delivered chilled in disposable containers for you to plate and serve yourself using your own serving pieces. Each package includes a tea towel and booklet with hostess instructions, party tips and kitchen tricks.

You may choose from three sized packages:

The small serves up to 12 guests for $500, The medium serves up to18 for $750, or our large serves up to 24 for $1000. Each serving is four sandwiches, one scone, one petit four and five cookies. A la carte menu items in half dozen increments or additional flavors of tea may be added to any size package.

Delivery is $75 within a 10 mile radius of Washington, DC. Deliveries are available beyond our area for an additional travel charge depending upon your location.

Rentals from our Silver Chest:

Beyond the simple drop-off delivery of the three-course tea, you may request rentals from our vintage silver chest. We have an extensive collection of silver tea pots, china cups, silver spoons and assorted services pieces to transform your living and dining rooms into an elegant tea room. Pricing starts at $50 for one tea pot kit and ranges up to $500 for a full collection of all you need to serve your tea.   • Our tea selections rotate by season and occasion, but Harney and Sons’ Paris is our favorite flavor and is always on the menu. We were so tickled to learn from Harney and Sons how to brew and serve loose leaf tea in the concentrate method. We added our Southern touch by packaging it in a mason jar. Each tea package includes your choice of Paris in a Mason Jar, a tin of silk sachets, or individually packaged tea bags.

  • TheTraveling Tea Room offers Silver Tea Pot kits for rent. Each kit is $50 and includes a standard 40 oz tea pot, silver creamer, silver sugar bowl, glass lemon plate, and the necessary silver serving pieces to include a sugar spoon, sugar tongs and lemon fork. We suggest one kit per flavor of tea offered or per dozen guests. How civilized to gracefully pick up sugar cubes with sterling silver tongs!

  • China Cups and Saucers in matching and mixed sets are available for $50 per dozen. We have a variety of styles and colors from which to choose. You may also rent place settings for $5 each to include silver tea spoons, dessert forks and silver spreaders for that delectable Devon cream and Strawberry jam.

  • At The Party Bee we have two options to help you throw the kind of party you wish you had time to plan: Custom Designed Parties are the bread and butter of The Party Bee and are what we are most known for while Party Bee at Home offers a taste of that experience in a more accessible and affordable way.

    Our Custom Designed Parties are for the hostess who wishes to delegate the details of her party. We conduct a walkthrough of your home or venue to start the process. We handle all of the planning beforehand, set up and food preparation, rentals, as well as staff and bartending during the party.

    Party Bee at Home is a door step drop-off program limited to menus which work well for self-service without onsite staff preparation, such as Afternoon Tea. Items arrive chilled in disposable packaging for you to prepare and serve on your own. Now, with our Traveling Tea Room we offer drop off rentals for the do-it-yourself tea party hostess.

  • For our Party Bee at Home Tea Parties we have a new, unique service called our Travelling Tearoom which offers bundles of rentals specifically curated for tea parties, be it a seated tea or a tea buffet. These rentals are delivered and left on site for you to pack up after the party. Packages start at $100 and can be customized for up to 24 people. For teas of more than 24 guests, rentals are available through our Custom Designed Parties where our staff brings, sets up and then serves during your event.

  • When you select the option of renting one of our Traveling Tea Rooms, you can build out the package to suit your needs with silver tea pots, creamers, sugar bowls, tiered serving stands, glass dishes, plates and bone china tea cups and saucers. Some hostesses only wish to have buffet service pieces and others want everything down to a kettle to boil the water.

  • The greatest luxury you can give yourself is the gift of hiring staff for a party. Having someone help set up and manage the food and drink at a party frees you to really enjoy the party and your guests. It is an indulgence worth splurging on. But we understand this is not always in the budget, which is why we created Party Bee at Home. All our menus for Party Bee at Home are meant to function without staff and can be managed solo by the host or hostess. We suggest staff for parties and teas of 24 or more to facilitate with the logistics of the rentals, the silver care, and cleaning of the equipment necessary for that size event.

  • Our calendar fills out on a first come, first served basis. Most of our parties book about two months in advance, but some events come together at the last minute. Your deposit is requested to book the event, guarantee your minimum number of guests, and reserve the staff for either delivery or full service. Then, up to a week prior to the event you may increase your numbers based on your RSVPs. Last minute additions can be handled with the associated fees required to make the additions to the menu.

  • For events of $2,000 or less we request full payment to book the event. For events over that amount, we request a 50% deposit or $1,000 (whichever is more) to book. The full balance is due prior to the day of the party.

  • Yes, we do. Credit cards transactions will incur a 3% bank fee. But we also offer a free option where you pay with an electronic check. Invoices are generated through quickbooks but you may also mail a paper check if that’s your preference.

  • We calculate our servings “up to” a certain headcount with 12 being our minimum. This is because most items from our specialty bakeries come by the dozen, bread is sold in loaves and some recipes just can’t be cut in half any further. The cost of goods and man-hours to curate and cook for a party of 10 is basically the same as a party of five - so we are unable to reduce our minimum any further below that guest count.

  • Your headcount is requested two weeks prior to your event. If a last-minute headcount increase is needed we can accommodate this up to four business days in advance, however rush order fees may apply to last minute orders.
